Descriptive Essay About Christmas - 1716 Words

I sent my brother to the hospital and ruined his Christmas break one year when I lived in Canada during the holiday season which started in December not in November like here in the US because our Thanksgiving falls on the first Monday in October. So, we usually start to decorate for the holidays the first week of December. In my house, every year we would pull all the decorations up from the basement to me it was a big deal for the boxes were huge that this funny musty smell to them because basement wasn t finished I would pull out each bulb or each decoration and remember from last year or the year before or maybe the year that I actually made that ornament like the one that had gold glitter on a pine cone and a red yarn and it on the†¦show more content†¦We would put lights multicolored lights in the perimeters of all the windows on the bottom every year our front window large window pane had the spacing decoration multicolored lights around the perimeter of the window an d in the center, was a three-tier candle decoration that had bulbs for the flame in the base of the candles of the red candles had fake Holly s and the berries that went with it. We would decorate the tree either the next day or the week later on the weekend because the tree would be set for a day to let the branches fall I didn t understand what that meant at the time but now I do when I used to get trees and I used to get a Christmas tree it was usually wrapped up tight and the branches were pointing up after you put the bulbs on it wouldn t look right after it settled and so you would have to redecorate all over again. When it was time to decorate the tree my mother oversaw putting the lights in the tree. The lights on the Christmas tree was always multicolored the ornaments that we put on a mixture throughout the years old and sometimes new as well one of the cool thing I remember is the lights were always connected to this box the Box played music in the lights would blink 2 th e beat of the song.
